Laurence Blanchard

LSHTM Research Fellow

Laurence has 10 years of experience in research, mainly as a systematic reviewer and on food policy. She is a Research Fellow and co-lead of the Evidence Synthesis theme at the Centre for Evaluation, both at LSHTM. Her research interests include nutrition policies, health equity and evidence synthesis methods for evaluating health policies.

Before joining PIRU, she was part of the Department of Health Reviews Facility of England (collaboration between LSHTM, UCL and University of York) and CO-CREATE (an EU-funded project on adolescent obesity). She has also led a series of evidence syntheses on mandatory and voluntary food environment policies (NIHR). Other former experience includes Lecturer in nutrition at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), promoting healthy eating in school, healthcare and community settings as a public health nutritionist/dietitian in Canada using both education and policy/structural interventions, and coordinating cancer services for the region of Montreal, Canada.
