Agata is a sociologist interested in the social and cultural dimensions of health, with a particular focus on understanding and bringing in the perspectives of marginalized populations, such as people living with HIV, women from racialized minorities, and those affected by poverty. She is the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Lead for PIRU.
Before joining PIRU in 2020, Agata researched HIV care, asexuality, impacts of non-specific genital infection diagnosis in heterosexual men, and the adoption of point-of-care tests for curable sexually transmitted infections. She is also interested in decolonial theories and methodologies and contributes to the LSHTM’s efforts to decolonise the curriculum.
