Dr Aimilia Exarchakou

LSHTM Research Fellow

I am a cancer epidemiologist interested in understanding why cancer outcomes vary between people and how we can improve inequities in cancer care. My research focuses on the factors that shape people’s experiences across the cancer pathway, from diagnosis and access to treatment through to survival and longer-term outcomes. I am particularly interested in how socio-economic and healthcare factors influence those inequities, and how research evidence can be used to inform improvements in cancer services.

I have recently joined the Policy Innovation Research Unit (PIRU) as a Knowledge Mobilisation and Policy Engagement lead, where I work to strengthen the connection between research and policy.
