Dr Juliette Malley

CPEC, LSE Deputy Director, Social Care

Juliette has over 15 years of experience researching adult social care to inform policy and practice in England and high-income countries. She is an Associate Professorial Research Fellow at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Senior Fellow of the NIHR School for Social Care Research. Juliette has worked closely with policymakers on a number of projects and advised various governmental and non-governmental bodies, including the Department of Health and Social Care, Social Care Wales, OECD, NICE and NIHR. She led the development of the Adult Social Care Survey that is still used to monitor the quality of care provided to publicly-funded social care service users.

Juliette’s research interests are in processes of change, innovations in the delivery, organisation and governance of adult social care, and national and international comparisons of social care systems. Her current research explores questions around how to scale, spread and sustain promising innovations and includes evaluations of various innovations, including several projects examining digital technologies. She also has expertise in the measurement of outcomes, quality and user experience in social care, having been a member of the team that developed ASCOT (a preference-weighted measure of social care outcomes).

Juliette enjoys her weekly run/shuffle/gossip club and spends time with family and friends
