Luke is a researcher with an international reputation in economic evaluation and health technology assessment, and with considerable experience in health services research. Currently, he is a Professor of Health Economics at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is also a member and health economics lead for the NICE funded Newcastle External Assessment Centre and lead health economist for the NIHR Behavioural Science Policy Research Unit along with being the chair of the Executive of the NIHR research Support Service for the North East and North Cumbria. Luke's research interests are in the methods and application of health economics, especially economic evaluation and preference elicitation. Related to this are research interests in different methods of evidence synthesis (systematic reviews, scoping reviews, evidence gap maps, various forms of meta-analysis and decision modelling). Prior to joining LSHTM, one role he had was theme lead for the Enabling Methodologies Theme of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for the North East and North Cumbria. In this role a key research interest was in the development of methods for the evaluation of policy initiatives at pace and scale. |
