I became interested in public and patient involvement in research through my experience as a long-term carer. I spent many years caring for my parents and my brother, navigating the complexities of both primary and secondary healthcare settings. Encouraged by a dear friend to share my lived experience to help inform research, I became a public contributor in 2018, despite feeling nervous about this new endeavour. I was met with warmth and openness by the research community, for which I am truly grateful.
I am interested in contributing to the development of studies that aim to improve health and social care which is deeply meaningful to me.
I always make time for the things I’m passionate about: nutrition, gardening, and, of course, my cats
